4-6-23   THOUGHTS

Verse 3 below sounds like our world today.  The media presents its ugliness daily.  There’s a better way, and I pray we can find that way.  We are told, in simple terms, what is good and profitable.  When we miss God’s grace and loving kindness, we live and operate against the design of the world we’ve been placed in.  We choose to swim upstream. And yet, as God designed things, it is the child of God who seems to be swimming upstream. The draw to follow the world is powerful and we must renew our minds daily in the Lord!      “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”  Rom 12:1-2

Titus 3:1-8    Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,  2  to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. 3  For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4  But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5  He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6  whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7  so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8  This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.

My Prayer:
Father, You have saved us from the vanity of this world, and we thank You.  Help us to be good sheep and listen continually to Your voice.  Help us to make wise decisions as we discern what is right and good to live by.  Keep our minds focused and on a spiritual track each moment. May we choose to abide in You continually, as Your Spirit makes His home in us.  How wonderful to be Your adopted children.  Accept our praise, our gratefulness, and our love.  Raise us up to higher planes as we seek to serve You.   In the name of our Lord and Savior,      Amen.
